Byråkrat is created, administrated and the brainchild of Martin Roos. Former guitarist and manager of one of the biggest bands to emerge from Sweden, Kent. The idea for Byråkrat comes from the urge to create instrumental music for the office. Or if you will – ”Muzak for the lonely bureaucrat”.

The first eponymous album ”Byråkrat”. was released in 2018, and it was described by the acclaimed Swedish music journalist Jan Gradvall as…” instrumental, guitar driven, suggestive and beautiful, characterized with a rain cloud greyish melancholy.”

The sequel ”Tillit” was released in 2019 on cassette, vinyl & digitally. An instrumental cover of Joy Division's ”Shadowplay” followed by the end of 2019.

The third album ”Möte” was created and produced from December 2019 to December 2020, and it includes two guest musicians and brothers - Hannu Kiviaho, guitarist and songwriter from acclaimed Swedish rockabilly band Fatboy and Heikki Kiviaho, bass player from the Swedish rock legends Sator.

The new album ”Bar” is co-written with Mattias Axelsson, guitarist and songwriter for the now defunct band The Horror The Horror. “Bar” has been in the making for over two years in different locations in Sweden. From the Swedish Archipelago to Martins home studio in the industrial town of Eskilstuna. ”Bar” show hints of a new sound with references to early Madchester, kraut-rock and New Order.

On stage, Martin is joined by Mattias Axelsson on guitar and Heikki Kiviaho on bass. Since the start they have performed over 60 shows. So far they have done one show outside Sweden, at the Bowery Electric in New York.
